【Pre-ordering】Chara-Kirie CLAMP 30th-anniversary Key Visual Washi since the Edo period / Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan

Now available for pre-order, the newly drawn key visuals from CLAMP 30th anniversary are newly available in the Chara-Kirie series. Each is framed and comes with a serial number.

The deadline for the pre-order is May 12, 2021 (Japan Standard time).　

The Chara-Kirie itself will be using a White Washi type paper and will be layering the Kirie and the Yuzen-shi.

Now, following the three Chara-Kirie that are soon to be released, the elegant Yuzen Washi (same as Yuzen-shi) will be included this time too.

The size will be a B3 (515×364mm), which is much larger than last time!

The Yuzen-shi used this time, "Kozakura Kiniro(gold)", will be made by "Origami Kaikan" in Yushima, Ochanomizu, Tokyo. A company with a history of over 150 years since 1858, from manufacturing to sales.

The entrance area is lined with many, many works. A very spectacular sight. All of them are made from Washi and Origami. One look, and you won't believe your eyes at how delicate they are and be amazed at a depth of beauty that goes on forever. This is said to be very popular among visitors from overseas.

People, Animals, Rice balls, Rice dumplings, flower petals, straw mat, dishes, etc... All of these are made from Washi. It is indescribable and makes me smile, making me want to go inside and participate in this world.

Once inside, the building is divided into sections. You can also take a tour of the factory.

Up the stairs, there is a huge tapestry-sized welcome board. It is also made of Washi and features the Japanese traditional paper crane.

It seems that the Japanese way of entertaining visitors from all over the world is very well expressed here.

This floor is an exhibition room and is filled with cute origami that is sure to be loved by everyone, from children to the elderly. It is a magical space where just looking into the displays is enough to fill you up.

　

　

　

So soft and warm, as if you can feel the breath of the animals. As if the fascination of "it" that is handmade can be felt with your whole body.

After seeing many works of art, we will finally be heading to the sales floor where Yuzen-shi (or commonly known as "Chiyogami") is sold.

An overwhelming and aesthetic space, as if jewelry were scattered and absorbed into the world of paper. From the glossy ones, flashy but coherent ones, to the chic and calm ones... Each one can be picked up and spread out to see. Suddenly, I feel as if doing something very luxurious.

Incredible to view in its entirety. The designs are so dazzling and glittering.

Each sheet is carefully painted and made at the Origami Kaikan.

As you can see, when stacked, the glamour and the characters combined with the Japanese taste give the impression of elegance and luxury.

The Chara-Kirie itself will be using a fancy paper, making it thin so when seen close, you can slightly see the Yuzen-shi through it.

　

　

　

　

By layering it with the black paper that comes with the piece, you can make the characters stand out more. Also, the delicate and calm nature of the Kirie, or "Wabi-sabi," can be highlighted.

You can combine and stack your choice of the two in the frame.

And another bonus. A serial license plate with the production number will be included.

　

　

On the right side of the slash will be the number of units produced (not yet confirmed, as we are still taking pre-orders). On the left side will be the delivery number.

Please be advised that the delivery number will be randomly assigned to each customer during the reservation period.
